The SVS SB16-Ultra is the flagship of the SVS closed subwoofer series. This heroic design combines a 40.6 cm woofer with a high-power, smart 1500-watt amplifier that can handle the most demanding bass passages in your favorite music and movies.
Innovative design
The SVS SB16-Ultra has the largest driver ever used in an SVS subwoofer. This lightweight, yet sturdy woofer is connected to a 20.3cm voice coil, the largest we've ever seen in a consumer subwoofer. Large woofers are difficult to address, but the overly large voice coil provides accurate frequency response and fast transients,
It requires enormous electrical power to drive such a massive woofer, the built-in Sledge STA-1500D amplifier takes on this task. Unlike many Classe D amplifiers, the Sledge STA-1500D's discrete MOSFET outputs can deliver incredible amounts of power, pushing the 40.6cm woofer to extreme performance speeds. An advanced Analog Devices digital signal processor is used to keep all this power under control.

The SB16-Ultra has instruments on board for fine-tuning the sound using three digital parametric EQs with adjustable frequency, cut / boost and Q values. With Room Gain Compensation you have a handy tool to solve difficult frequency problems in the listening room. Full control of the phase compensation and digital crossover has also been considered.
To make adjustments easier, SVS moved the LED display to the front of the subwoofer. The SB-16 features a stereo line-level RCA plus a balanced XLR input and output for flexible connectivity.
